At Night, In Black and White
By: Abbey Road Rutter
In day, I dream in color,
At night, in black and white,
And when I dream of nothing,
I lose all sense of sight.
For eyes are not what see this world,
The soul envisions truth,
And when the mind seeks honestly,
Therein we find the proof.
In dreams, I cannot claim this world,
I live within my own.
I leave only to know myself,
And return again full grown.
For never do I know of life,
As well as I do when,
I leave all thought of self behind,
Just to begin again.
I've studied only shallow here,
Of deep, I cannot learn,
But I know well, the form of mind,
That teaches fire to burn.
For with regret, recourse is key,
In making my amends,
But all I've found of justice here,
Is taking my revenge.
